The City Council meets several times a month, typically at 7:00 p.m. Study sessions, which are typically informational only, are sometimes scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on the night of a Council meeting. Residents are invited to speak on many items on the agenda of these meetings or to email comments to the whole Council prior to the meetings.
You can attend these meetings in person at the Council Chambers at City Hall (1500 Warburton Ave.) or watch them on Comcast channel 15. Council meetings are also available live and for later replay on the web.
Note that the agenda section on the web also often includes detailed agenda reports and other background information on the topics to be discussed. These reports are typically posted late Thursday or Friday afternoons, prior to the scheduled Tuesday night meetings, to give Council members and residents a chance to review the material before the meetings.
To get a fair chance to speak on issue(s) that may be important to you, it’s important that you understand the concept of the consent calendar.
